Rumi life passages are filled with the negative emotions that can be a major barrier to our happiness. Rumi defined negative emotions as all of those feeling that remove us from the inherent state of our happiness.
This Rumi Dialogue with one of his students refers to those negative thoughts and emotions that create obstacles preventing us from uniting with the Universal intelligence to attain happiness and wisdom.
The student asked, “What is Poison?”
Rumi responed, “Anything more than our necessity is Poison. It may be Power, Wealth, Ego, Greed, or Ambition.
What is Fear?
Non-acceptance of uncertainty. If we accept that uncertainty, it becomes an adventure!
What is Envy?
Non-acceptance of good in others. If we accept the good, it becomes an inspiration!
What is Anger?
Non-acceptance of things which are beyond our control. If we accept them, it becomes tolerance!
What is Hatred?
Non-acceptance of person as he is. If we accept person unconditionally, it becomes love!
